She's drawn to the silences in old stories — the moments between the heroics, where someone stood at a threshold and chose wrong, or right, or something the legends never bothered to record.
Crown of Hawthorn Leaves is her debut novel. She lives in Northern California with her family and an unreasonable number of books about Celtic folklore.
When she isn't writing, she's chasing down half-remembered folktales, mispronouncing Old Irish, and arguing with the gods who stopped answering.
